Delete your account and data
How to ask Astute Lex Servicado Private Limited (product: LeXi AI) to delete your account and the personal data held about you, what is deleted, and what we are required to keep.
How to request deletion
Two ways — in the app, or by email.
In the mobile app: open Settings and choose Delete Account. Accounts that sign in with Apple or Google confirm with that sign-in instead of a password.
By email: write to ceo@lexiai.legal from the address your account is registered with, using the subject line Account deletion request, and include:
- the email address registered to the account,
- your full name as it appears on the account,
- whether you use LeXi AI on the web, iOS or Android.
To protect your data we may need to verify your identity before acting on the request, and may ask for further information for that purpose. There is no charge for making a request.
If you use LeXi AI as a member of an organisation, law firm or institution, that organisation controls the account. Your request may need to be made to, or actioned by, your administrator; where we receive it directly we will pass it to them.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile data, including login credentials and settings.
- Your workspaces and the content in them: uploaded documents, matter and litigation files, contract materials and drafts.
- Your research and chat history within the Services.
Export anything you want to keep before you submit the request — deletion cannot be reversed.
What is retained, and why
Some records must be kept even after an account closes.
- Billing, invoice, tax and transaction records — kept for the periods required by applicable tax, accounting and other legal obligations, which can extend beyond the closure of the account.
- Support and communications records — kept for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain a record of interactions and to comply with legal obligations.
- Security, authentication and audit logs — kept for the periods necessary to secure the Services and investigate misuse.
- Backups — data removed from live systems may remain in routine backups for a limited period until those backups are overwritten or expire in the ordinary course, and stays subject to our security measures during that period.
- Aggregated or de-identified data — data from which you are not reasonably identifiable may be retained, and is not re-identified.
- Data we are required or permitted to keep to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
How long it takes
We acknowledge deletion requests by email and action them once your identity is verified. We respond to requests within the timeframes required by the applicable data protection law. Copies held in routine backups are removed as those backups expire in the ordinary course. Retention and your privacy rights are described in full in our Privacy Policy (sections 13 and 15). For anything else, see Support.
